What does this mean???
The disappointing news is that the projections for EB2 for India born applicants will not advance for several months. For the months of October and November 2010, the Department of State has used 700 EB2 numbers and that does not count the demand for USCIS for EB2 numbers.

I just wrote to the White House. I asked to Fix the LEGAL immigration system and I wrote why. It is so easy, just go here http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/ and write to the U.S. president. If they receive 5000 of letters of same content, I am sure they will pass it on to the President.

I tried to recruit 3 guys with 7-8 yrs of experience. We already have a 12 member offshore team...the average asking rate (H1s and citizens) is 90K ..H1B quota restriction is working in our favor very much. Market rate for IT professionals has increased quite handsomely..put ur resume out to dice or monster and see for urselves.
this 90k is in which part of the US? A salary number without specifying geography is pretty hard to rate :)

a) Republican base is not you and me, in case you haven't noticed they either cater to big biz or to a specific "kind" of Americans.
but that specific kind is now the majority, the senate seats they lost are because of the extreme views of the candidates
b) Tea Party is basically opposed to many things including free trade and immigration. Like any other politician they might change when they have power, if they don't then hope things don't get worse.

This analysis based on Data provided by USCIS on Aug 25th. They have changed data under dashboard two times since but they haven't updated detail sheet online.
Also DOL performance also factors lot. If DOL starts approving labor at faster rate EB ROW categories can consume much more visas and left over will be less for EB2 India and China that can hurt analysis.
Good thing is that IV members spent time to understand 3 departments data and create a model so future analysis on updated data should be quick and may be core can post updated version of this doc frequently.
NVC has declared CP numbers in wholesome also USCIS is due to release updated backlog information soon so we can have new document sometime soon.
Also there is a very good point about spill over and how it can lead to visa wastage if DOS doesn't consider USCIS's processing time and future applications on DOL site. That may convince DOS to move forward gradually.

Man, I-485 for Texas went back more than a month. It's so bad, they might as well not have published it, one would have slept better at night.
How do they come up with these dates? Weren't they supposed to process I-485 applications in the order they received them?
And how come the California Service Center has been doing so well this past few months, while all the other centers have been stationary or going back. CSC is at January 2007 now, fer cryin' out loud!

We guessed you were lying to us when you said you do not sing! You should have joined us... we would have then sung the song that only you and the other singer/guitarist know (besides Digital2k) know. BTW, the guitarist was Dr Saurabh although I don't know his IV handle.
It's the beginning of this weekend, but let me rewind things to the last weekend. I received a call from Paskal while I was walking into "Costco", when he told me about his idea of having me and someone else sing and keep folks entertained before the rally. He connected me to Saurabh, and it felt really nostalgic when Saurabh and I rehearsed the song over the phone... somewhat like how two friends would do it in college.
Then on the day of the rally, we knew we had to rehearse with our guitars, and we also knew we would have to, first of all, tune our guitars to one another. But to our sweet surprise, our guitars were already tuned:) We then went a few feet away from the registration booth, and began practising... but something funny happened.
One of the airfare beneficiaries came to me and said hello. We stopped playing and exchanged hellos, and chatted for 2 minutes, but guided him to Venkygct who had been very kind to take over all the "check disbursement" responsibilities. Another 2 minutes, and we have another beneficiary visiting. This time, Venky sees him and runs to us:)
But, we have only a few minutes to the rally, so we decide to go further away from the booth.... and we go really really far... and then start practising once again.
And then after a few minutes, we see Venky and a beneficiary running to us from 2 different directions, but Venky intercepting the missile before it got us:D
Thanks Venky for everything! You made it all sound easy. Starting from the day you postponed your India trip to make it to the rally, you had started making a positive impact on us.
(Folks, Venky even roped in a handful of his own friends to come to the rally. )
You were the God-sent help Arun and I were really missing! We had been finding it hard tracking down some of the sponsors and beneficiaries whose IV profiles had phony emails and bad phone numbers! But you came and things started moving real smooth.
Not to forget Drona's tremendous efforts in roping in dante, prp79, jiren... and in fact co-ordinating the sponsorship for one of them completely on her own!
Of course, Drona's dream to form the "Let's partner to increase resonance" band remains unfulfilled. So venky, by the next rally, do learn to play the drums:D
IV hadle of Dr Saurabh is 'drsaurabhsethi'. abhijitp, you guys rocked the stage with my favourite music. I want congratulate everyone in CA chpater for their enthusiasm and grand participation in the rally. You guys did it, what we couldn't do being local to DC. We learned a lot from CA chpater memebers from their dedication and hard work. Keep it up. Hats off to all CA members.

Yes sir, I do. I am suffering for 8 years now because of all these stupid USCIS rules. They think that by changing name from INS to USCIS things will change. Well, got a news for all, it is in worst shape than ever.
So far as you are concerned sir, are planning on joining us or not.
Well, it's the bitter truth that a lot of people have been suffering now for a while. Unfortunately in this person's case, it's not the USCIS that messed up, it was the lawyer... Now you're going to come back with something like "It's because of USCIS' stupid rule of not accepting applications when priority dates are not current", but guess what...that's part of the system...you've got to play by the rules!!!...agreed that it would be wonderful if a lot of the rules changed, and IV is doing a great job in trying to make this happen!
By the way, what's your explanation for the rude comment? We all understand that you're an ardent supporter of IV's efforts, and that's awesome, but that doesn't mean you can put other people down...
To answer your question, yes, I am doing my best to ensure that I'm able to make it to the rally...but just some food for thought... in the event that a person is not able to make it to the rally for some reason, it does not give you ANY RIGHT WHATSOEVER to go about bashing them in the way that you are...

Along same lines, I would like to ask, Mark or whoever in anti-immigration camp,
there are only 1M (may be little less) skilled workers looking for immigration and you have problem with that because all of them are not THE BRIGHTEST one, okay... well first understand, for THE BRIGHTEST we have EB1 which is working great. Now in America there is a lot of work which needs experienced and highly skilled worker and we have EB2 for that, apart from that we still have a lot of work which requires hitech skilled worker and for that we have Eb3. So by the definition system has already identified the need and have representation for those.
And secondly you have problem with those who came legally and are highly skilled and have followed all the rules since day 1, counts less that 1 million, you are not willing to give them GC on other hand there are 12M (actually 20 M) who can't even write their names in English and everybody is ready to give them GC even the president of US is ready.
Doesn't that give signal that US is pro illegal and anti-legal immigration.... think about it

Brush up your General Knowledge, look around you. If you see, there is a priority date on my post - Infy does not sponspor GC's, atleast not with those priority dates in EB2 category. Can you deduce what that implies?
You are thinking only about the small percentage of "lost Indians" (including me) who are in this mess - if you really think about your motherland (and mine), help guys like NRN get a good infrastructure in place. By ridiculing him, what are you trying to say? had you been in his place, what would you have done? Settle here immediately, and launch a daily "freighter" to bring all Indians to US? What desh bhakti!

Very good point logiclife. what happens in this following scenario when 140 is approved and when 140 is pending.
Person X has completed 180 days after 485 filing, used is 6 yrs of H1 and now he got a 3 yrs of H1B from the same employer. If this person uses AC21 & EAD and joins another company and after 1 yr his 485 is rejected for wrong reasons, will this person be out of status(since used EAD) or will be in status since his H1b is still valid with the old employer (Assumed the employer has not revoked). Will it be safe to come back to the same employer.

Now, if you have used less than 6 years of H1, and then used AC21 portability, used EAD, abandoned H1 status and continued on EAD status and if the 485 gets rejected, there may be a way to reclaim the remaining unused portion of H1. It may involve going out of country and coming back in. Check with a lawyer, I dont know much and haven seen any case where someone who was on EAD status could go back to H1 status. Usually H1 to EAD is a one-way street, especially if you have already used up the 6 years of H1 stay in country.

My checks got encashed yesterday.My application reached at NSC at 8:26 A.M. on july 2,2007.It looks like they are working on our applications.As long as our papers are filed correctly,we shouldn't worry.I was also anxious like you. Just have patience.
My checks got encashed yesterday.My application reached at NSC at 8:26 A.M. on july 2,2007.It looks like they are working on our applications.As long as our papers are filed correctly,we shouldn't worry.I was also anxious like you. Just have patience.

I'm smiling. We will certainly try, but the part above (clout etc) would be an overstatement of our current levels of access. :)
Note that these are the same agencies that have been resisting our efforts to get even the most basic breakdown of data.
